Motorcycles For Sale

November 30, 2007 By: 36 Special Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Every now and then I find a good motorcycle site that I want let yall know about on here. Today I have one for those of you bikers over in England. Do you find yourself looking for motorcycles for sale? Maybe you are looking to get rid of the one you have so you can pick up another. Well that is what MforS is here for, listing your motorbikes for sale or listing a want ad for a bike. I have been cruising the site and they seem to have a fair amount of bikes listed but it is not too crowded. You can also use an advanced search feature and narrow the selections down by the type of bike you are looking for, location of the bike, year, price, and even the age of the advertisement. The best thing about it is that it is free to list your bike. The only thing required to advertise your ride is for you to register on the site. Now that is a good deal!
Here are a few more features;
Upload up to six pictures
You have unlimited text to describe your ride
Your email address is not shown to prevent spam
There is also a question and answer feature so that the advertiser can respond to questions

The site is straight forward with no fluff and all of that stuff to distract people from looking at your ad. Heck they even have a section for dirt bikes and quads bikes for sale. So head on over and check it out for yourself. I believe I am going to be listing some stuff on there.

Orval Beer

November 30, 2007 By: 36 Special Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

Finally, I am reviewing another beer! I know yall missed this article so I am bringing it back. This one is a pretty good one too! This beer was probably the most enjoyable beer that I have drank for these reviews. Well here it is, the name is Orval. It is a true Trappist beer made by the Cistercian monks of Orval in Belgium. If you would like to go to the oficial site, here is a link.

Orval Beer
This is a reddish/light brown beer that made an awesome, huge head while pouring. It looked like I had made a beer float! The fragrance was a strong but sweet. It made my mouth water just thinking about it. The first taste was a little bitter but surprisingly it had a real smooth finish. It is hard to explain but usually when the beer is bitter I have a hard time drinking it but this one went down real well. It has a 6.2% alcohol content so it is not one of the stronger Belgian beers. So here we go with the ratings.

Aroma 8/10
Appearance 8/10
Flavor 9/10
Palate 9/10
Overall 8.5/10

Aroma; This had a great aroma. This beer was one of those where the smell reflected the taste very close.
Appearance What a great looking beer! I was ready to drink this beer as soon as I poured it. I usually wait for the foam to flatten just a little but I didn’t waste any time drinking this one.
Flavor The flavor of this beer was just as pleasing as the look and smell. Yes it did have a slight bitter start but it did not detract from the flavor, it only added to it.
Palate What a finish, smooth with a taste of barley malt and that bitterness came from the hops.

This is the first beer review where I am going to strongly encourage you to try this one. I guarantee you will not regret it. This will definitely be a beer that I will keep on hand. As always drink responsibly and don’t drink and ride.

Fort Donalson Ride

November 29, 2007 By: 36 Special Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I finally got to do that ride out to Fort Donalson that I tried to do on Veterans Day. You know, the ride where I let a little rain ruin my plans for the day. I headed out to Dover (Tennessee) by way of Bumpus Mills and some nice twisty roads. I spent a few hours just tooling around on the back roads in that area and then decided to take a little road that they referred to as “Snake Road”. That road was great! I haven’t been on any good twisties since I left Belgium. The only problem I had was near the end a truck decided to enter the road right in front of me. Well, thanks to those new Metzlers and a little luck I was able to “whoa” it up just enough. I plan on doing it again soon so if you are in the area holler at me and I will show you where it is.

Fort Donalson
After I was done playing around on the twisties I headed on to Dover and rode around the park for a while. I didn’t have real long to be there because I was going to meet some people back in Clarksville but I did get to take a few pictures and enjoy it for a little while. I was able to check out the southern water battery that pounded the Iron Clads into submission. Those were some big guns! They say that they beat the boats up so bad that the decks were slippery with blood. That must have been a grueling battle for both sides but somehow the earth bound guns got the upper hand. I was also hoping to catch a glimpse of the Eagles that nest in the area but I had no such luck. If yu want to see a few pictures of the battlefield check out my Ride Pictures gallery.
Until next time keep it safe and get out and ride.
