Matt from Motobasturds sent me this comic he did a few days ago;
Enjoy the motorcycle comic and while you are at it visit his site; Motobasturds. While you are there you need to check out a few things. One thing he does is caricatures. Just send him a picture and he will do a caricature for you and send it to you as a poster for a small fee. I have been thinking about getting him to do one for me. If I do I will let yall see how it comes out.

I visit at least ten other motorcycle sites a day. While visiting one site I was lucky enough to see the work of Matt over at Motobasturds. He does a biker comic with a tongue in cheek style while still maintaining a realistic look on the biker world. If you check them out, while funny, they portray real life. I try and bring you a new website every now and then. Now you will find tons of motorcycle sites out there but finding a good one sometimes isn’t easy. I can almost guarantee that you can go through 10 or 11 old websites that look like they haven’t been updated in years and appear generally neglected before you find that one site that meets your needs. Brain Bucket is one of those sites where you can go and spend hours pouring through plenty of updated material. They feature photo galleries of biker babes on bikes, tons of news, forums, links, and so much more.

Biker Books

Browsing around the web I happened across a site for a book of biker fiction. The author Kenny Lee wrote the book while in the hospital recovering from a near fatal motorcycle accident. The book is called Thundering Hearts: The Razors Edge and you can more about it at Kennett Parker’s site. Portions of the royalties will be given to the March of Dimes Ride for Babies.

The following is a short synopsis of what the book is about;

Landon and Joan are a biker couple who find themselves fighting for their lives in this fast paced suspense thriller, against Road Dog, a loner renegade biker, addicted to cocaine, who will stop at nothing to kill Landon and avenge his brother’s death thirty years earlier.

Road Dog starts tantalizing Landon with prank phone calls and anonymous death threats. He escalates the threats by tampering with Landon’s brakes on his Harley, causing a near fatal head on crash with an SUV. After months in the hospital recovering, Landon and Joan get on Landon’s new Harley and ride to the Smoky Mountains for a romantic weekend getaway where Landon planned to propose to her.

By the time they arrive in the Smoky Mountains, they find out that Road Dog is after them and that he wants them dead, but they don’t know the reason. Their worst nightmare is just beginning as they leave the Smoky Mountains to get away from this renegade biker that neither one had ever seen before in their lives. Landon and Joan head west to the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. By the time they cross the Arkansas state line, Road Dog is on the FBI’s ten most wanted list, for the string of robberies, rapes, and murders that he committed across three states while trying to catch up with Landon and Joan.

Captain Rick Parker of the Arkansas State Police, eventually teams up with Landon, helping him figure out who Road Dog is and why he wants him dead. It becomes personal for Captain Parker after Road Dog shoots his wife to kidnap Joan.

You will laugh and you will cry as you ride along with Landon and Joan in this page turning adventure. You will cheer when you see how the love that Landon and Joan share, and how their faith in God, help them overcome the evil that is bestowed upon them.

Strolling through the web the other day and I came across the website Forty Years On Two Wheels and have been visiting ever since. He has a lot of great articles on there and the site has been around for a while. He also has a neat little series called as the wheels turn. Just check it out, I am sure you will find something on there that is interesting.

Fubar

I joined a website a few months ago after someone sent me the address. I wasn’t sure what it was about but after digging around for a while I found it kind of interesting. The website is called Fubar (F*cked Up Beyond All Recognition) and it is another social networking site similar to myspace. I think it used to be called cherrytap.com and also lostcherry.com. The thing is, this site is geared towards adults and so far it is the best one I have found. They make the claim that it is the first online bar and happy hour. They have virtual lounges where you can visit and chat with the other visitors, you can buy anyone a drink (virtual) with the fubucks you earn and it has a meter that shows how drunk you are at the time. Another feature is you can buy other people virtual gifts with the points (fubucks) that you earn. You can also go in and rate the profiles and pictures of other user and comment on their profile just like other site. Now when you do any of these things or when someone does them on your profile you earn points. These points help you “level up” and the higher you go the more privileges you get on the site.
Ways to earn fubucks and points;

Rate pictures, mumms (polls), blogs, and profiles etc..
Comment on pictures, mumms, blogs, and profiles etc…
Add pictures, blogs, and music to your profile

There are plenty of other ways to earn points but there are too many to cover here. Try it out for yourself, it doesn’t take long and is free to use but it can be addicting for some folks. With winter here some of us have plenty of time to kill anyways.

Motorcycles For Sale

Every now and then I find a good motorcycle site that I want let yall know about on here. Today I have one for those of you bikers over in England. Do you find yourself looking for motorcycles for sale? Maybe you are looking to get rid of the one you have so you can pick up another. Well that is what MforS is here for, listing your motorbikes for sale or listing a want ad for a bike. I have been cruising the site and they seem to have a fair amount of bikes listed but it is not too crowded. You can also use an advanced search feature and narrow the selections down by the type of bike you are looking for, location of the bike, year, price, and even the age of the advertisement. The best thing about it is that it is free to list your bike. The only thing required to advertise your ride is for you to register on the site. Now that is a good deal!
Here are a few more features;
Upload up to six pictures
You have unlimited text to describe your ride
Your email address is not shown to prevent spam
There is also a question and answer feature so that the advertiser can respond to questions
The site is straight forward with no fluff and all of that stuff to distract people from looking at your ad. Heck they even have a section for dirt bikes and quads bikes for sale. So head on over and check it out for yourself. I believe I am going to be listing some stuff on there.

Biker Planet

Have you heard of biker planet yet? Well it is a community type site similar to Myspace but for biker dating and just meeting other single bikers like you (that is if you are single). For some it may seem hard to find people with the same interests but at Biker Planet you have that part knocked out of the way. You already know that they love to ride, heck it is up to you after that to connect with someone that you are interested in. You also have plenty to choose from, they claim to be the biggest biker community on the net. Head on over there today and try it out, there is no telling, you may just find that special person you are looking for. Come on back and tell me how it turned out.

It has been quite some time since I posted you a link to another biker site but I just had to share this one with yall. It is a nice blog where the author talks about her rides, issues concerning motorcycles, and women riders. It was a very good read and I have went back a few times over the last few days reading more and more of her older articles. Me, well I am partial to hearing about rides and she talks about riding Bluff Road in Illinois. It has me kind of interested in doing a little research on this ride and running up there to try it out. Heck I am about 100 miles from southern Illinois so I may look into doing it sometime early November.

Loud Pipes
This is another topic that she talks about and she makes some good points. I know we worry about our freedoms but whose rights are we treading on when we blast down the road with our straight pipes? Now don’t get me wrong, I love my V&H Short Shots and have been obnoxiously loud with them at times. I guess we will see how it turns out over the next few years.

Helmet Laws
Remember last week when I posted a little article on helmet laws? Well she did too. This is getting to be a topic as hot as the loud pipes debate. I think we will be fighting this one forever. Myself I wear a helmet because I choose to, but I understand not wanting to be required to.

Biker Poetry

While browsing sites around this here thing called the interweb I love to stumble upon pictures (drawings, paintings, photos), sculptures, and writing that reflects the biker culture. That is why I am writing this today. To bring light to a poet who not only does great work but someone who you can tell is a good brother. I guess you can say that he gets it. Heck so many bikers these days don’t get it. They wouldn’t know what “it” is if it bit ‘em in the ass. Well, that is why I am pleased to present to you The Ironhorse Writer; Laurence P Scerri. If I can let me share a little of his work with ya and if you don’t mind leave a comment and tell me what you think about it.

Outlaw (If you don’t know one…Look in da mirror)

He’s of a breed, cut from a cloth
That shall never be denied
Often prone

Finding solace within his ride

Babies and dogs are a weakness
Ladies are ever a vice
