Wasn't really trying to advocate buying from the MOCO, just try buying American in general. I know a lot of the foreign bikes are put together here and some of the stuff may even be of better quality. Mainly I just want readers to to put a little more thought into their purchases. Every little bit helps and maybe we can make this little downturn a little shorter than it could be.

I understand your call to buy American, but considering how manyy people are employed by foreign bike manufacturers here in the US, how many custom parts for foreign bikes are manufactured here in the US and how many so called "American" bike parts are actually made over seas, how much of the money spent on American made bikes will actually stay here in the US?
If Harley wants to regain it's market share it needs to find a way to compete with the foreign bike makers. Their latest offerings just don't seem to be doing it.

I live in York PA where well paid HD workers have a seriously positive impact on our local economy. Locally 425 workers will be laid off which I'm sure will result in other industries huarting.

Had Harley taken the Japanese cruiser market seriously a few years ago and made improvements to the quality of their own bikes they may have not been in as bad a position as they find themselves now.
