Super Rally part 4
I promised you part four, day three didn’t I? Well thanks for tuning back in. Day three was really a wrap up day for us and that is mainly what this post is going to be for. So without further distractions I will continue.
Wow, another day waking up to the rain. I got up and got out in it and stood there like a dummy for a little while. These past 2 weeks have been somewhat rain filled so you get to expect it and just decide to live with it. I started tearing down my stuff to pack for the ride back and while I did that I asked someone to pick up my bag breakfast for me. DZ was kind enough to do it and by the time the rest made it back I was through packing. The bike was loaded down and ready except for some stuff that I was carrying for others. Just in case you don’t already know or haven’t read it elsewhere my bike is an H-D Dyna Wide Glide. That type of bike is not one of the big cruisers that come with a windshield, saddlebags, and a big ol’ comfy seat. It is more of a stripped down bike without a windshield and my saddlebags are just some cheap ones that I picked up for trips like this. I usually strap my tent and sleeping bag to the front of my handlebars and that blocks a whole lot of wind and I put my cloths, tools, and other junk in the cheapo saddlebags. It works out just fine for me but that is the way I like it. I wouldn’t mind having a geezer glide mind you (touring bike) but I am happy with my Dyna.
Now where was I, that’s right I was through packing and they brought my food back. We all got ready took a few pictures and rolled out. It was a fairly uneventful ride back (that is always good). Luckily we didn’t get any rain and about halfway home we stopped and pulled the rain gear off. We all started splitting up just south of Brussels and for the final leg of the trip it was just three bikes. Me, DZ, and Chip rode on towards our homes and I unloaded DZ’s stuff from my bike and went home. It sure was nice to sleep in my bed that night.
Here are a few afterthoughts, complaints, and things I learned;
1. I am still waiting for the burnout pit, all rallies have them right?
2. Take plenty of money; you will go through it fast (beer is expensive).
3. My tent is awesome, it is made by Sierra Designs and I would recommend it to anyone. I did not get wet or have to deal with condensation on the inside.
4. My cheapo saddlebags from Willie and Max are very well made. You can not beat them with even real leather bags in my opinion.
5. Better bands, some were good but most I could have cared less for.
6. Final thought, I can’t wait for the next rally and to all of those who went with us it was great partying with you guys. See you at Black and White!

Now a little about me, as of right now I am 36, a father of 2 and I have been happily married now for 16 years (time sure does fly when your having fun). I am in the military and have been for almost 10 years. Before that I did many other jobs like driving a truck, welding in a fabrication shop, doing a little carpenter and concrete work, and working on cars. Heck I still do some of that stuff just not full time. I have been working my hand at this website stuff since December of 06. I love to ride and sometimes that interferes in my web publishing so I hope you forgive me if I miss a few days while away at a rally or something. Well that is all for now, go read some of the stuff on the site.
